This Privacy Policy explains how OHO Jobs ("OHO Jobs", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use our website ohojobs.in, speak with us by phone, message us on WhatsApp, or otherwise use our hiring services (together, the "Services").
We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them.
By using our Services or sharing your details with us, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
3.1 Who this policy covers
- Job seekers / candidates: people looking for work through OHO Jobs
- Employers / clients: businesses that hire through OHO Jobs, and their representatives
- Website visitors: anyone who visits ohojobs.in
3.2 Personal data we collect
From job seekers:
- Name, mobile number, WhatsApp number, email address (if provided)
- Age or date of birth, gender, city, district, state and PIN code
- Education, work experience, current or last salary, expected salary, languages spoken, and job preferences (role, location, shift)
- Documents you choose to share for a job application, such as a resume or ID and address proofs requested by an employer
- Records of our phone calls with you, including call recordings and written records of those calls
- WhatsApp messages you send us, and the delivery and read status of messages we send you
- Interview, selection, joining and post-joining status for jobs you apply to
From employers:
- Name, designation, business email and phone number of your representatives
- Company details, job requirements, and billing and tax information
From website visitors:
- Information you submit through our enquiry form (name, company, email, phone, message)
- Basic technical data such as browser type, device type and pages visited
3.3 How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you call us, message us, fill in a form or speak with our team
- When you respond to a job opening shared by us or an employer partner
- From employers, about the progress of your application (for example, interview outcome or joining date)
- From job referrals, where someone shares a job with you and you choose to contact us
3.4 How we use your personal data
We use personal data only for the following purposes:
- To match job seekers with suitable jobs and share relevant job openings
- To screen candidates and share suitable candidate profiles with employers for a specific job
- To schedule interviews and share interview, document and joining information
- To confirm joining and follow up after joining
- To communicate with you by phone call, SMS and WhatsApp about jobs, applications and our Services
- To maintain call and message records for quality, training, dispute resolution and fraud prevention
- To manage employer relationships, requirements, invoicing and payments
- To improve our Services and understand hiring trends in aggregate (anonymised) form
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities
3.5 WhatsApp communication
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform to communicate with job seekers and employers.
- We message you on WhatsApp only after you have shared your number with us and agreed to be contacted about jobs.
- Messages may include job openings, application updates, interview details, reminders and joining follow-ups.
- WhatsApp messages are delivered through Meta Platforms and our authorised messaging service provider. Their handling of data is also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
- You can opt out at any time by replying "STOP" on WhatsApp or by writing to [email protected]. After you opt out, we will stop sending you WhatsApp messages, except any reply to a message you send us.
3.6 Call recording
Calls with OHO Jobs may be recorded and converted into written records for quality, training, accurate record-keeping and dispute resolution. We tell you at the start of a call that it may be recorded. If you do not wish to be recorded, please tell our team and we will find another way to help you.
3.7 Who we share personal data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:
- Employers: We share a candidate's profile with an employer only for a specific job the candidate is interested in or has been considered for.
- Service providers: These include telephony, messaging (including WhatsApp), cloud hosting, email and software providers who process data on our behalf and are bound to keep it confidential and secure.
- Legal and regulatory: We share data where required by law, court order or government authority, or to protect the rights, safety and property of OHO Jobs, our users or the public.
3.8 Data storage and security
We store personal data on secure servers and use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, and limiting access to people who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where required by law.
3.9 How long we keep personal data
We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes in this policy:
- Candidate profiles: while you are actively looking for work with us, and up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them earlier
- Call recordings and message records: up to 12 months, unless needed longer to resolve a dispute
- Employer and billing records: as long as required under tax and accounting laws
After this, data is deleted or anonymised.
3.10 Your rights
Under applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data
- Ask us to delete your personal data
- Withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing already done)
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity
- Raise a grievance with us, and escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India if it is not resolved
To exercise any of these rights, write to our Grievance Officer at [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request". We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
3.11 Age requirement
Our Services are meant for people aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18 for job placement. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
3.12 Cookies
Our website uses only basic cookies needed for it to function and to understand overall visits. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
3.13 Links to other websites
Our website or messages may contain links to employer websites or other third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
3.14 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
